100 Followers!!

I’m so, SO happy to have reached 100 followers on my blog! When I started this, I used be over the moon if I got just one view in a day, the fact that somebody out there was actually reading my content gave me – and still gives me – tingles. I still remember being bemused when someone followed me for the first time – why would they want to follow me? So now I’m at 100 followers, it means so much, and I am still as grateful for each new follower as I was for my first.

I think it’s interesting how our attitudes change and our standards rise parallel to our achievements – like, someone that’s just gotten their 3,000th follower probably won’t get too excited when they hit 3,100, because their sights will be set on 4,000. But someone just starting a blog will be ecstatic when they get their first ’10 followers’ notification. It’s all about perspective, right? So, in my opinion, while we should of course strive to better ourselves and reach for the stars, I think it’s also important to value what we already have, and to remain appreciative of even the smallest steps of progress, regardless of our ultimate goals 🙂

Anyway…I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to make this a philosophical post! I guess all this pre-reading for University is playing on my mind 😂

Back to the point! I want to end this post by saying thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to each person that’s followed me and shown me love, I’m so glad I’ve had the chance to meet so many interesting bloggers and to have had such stirring debates with you. Here’s to the next 100 🥂

Also, just as an update, I was thinking of maybe sharing some of my own music on here? Wait, wait, I know what you’re thinking – ‘Oh, now he’s posted one poem he thinks he’s freakin’ Ed Sheeran.’ But in my defence, I’ve been writing songs waaaay before I even knew what poetry was (I’m still not sure I really know what poetry is, but that’s besides the point!).

And hey, aren’t songs nowadays just modern forms of poetry anyway?

Hmm, maybe that’s a good topic for my next post…
